    I just picked up a Scott G2 907/4, and I am very impressed with it.

    Does it have a full wells grip or the same western grip as the lighter rods?

    The Grip is not a full wells grip, it is like a modified western grip with the larger portion of the grip up towards the tops.

    The original “Murray bass rod” is a the first generation of this stick… it is custom rod for Murrays fly shop, and I believe you can only get them through Murrays.

    Yeah, the 907 G2 is by far my favorite smallie rod and no wind tailing redfish rod. Also took it out and caught a few larger stripers with it…handled them pretty good and really makes you realize how strong even a 10 lb fish is.
