A buddy of mine wanted to go looking for some specks on Saturday. We settled on my personal favorite speck stream and had a pretty good day. I had a wedding to get back to so we couldn’t stay as late as I’d like to have. My tandem de jour was a Tennessee Wulff and a green weiner.

First (and smallest) fish of the day.

    Some Dutchman’s Britches.

    First on the dry.

    Some Spring Beauties.

    Another speck.

    Little hot spot.

    Hungry like the Wulff.

Despite the cool weather the trillium were out.

    Super little pool.

    Buddy working a monster pool.

The Dutchman’s breeches there is actually wild bleeding heart. Same family, easily confused! The breeches have separate “legs” like an upsidedown pair of trousers. Both of which are awesome spring wildlflowers. Wishing ours was in bloom up here.

Glad to see I’m not the only green weenie devotee. It’s a hot fly, I’m tellin’ ya. Great pics, hope spring isn’t far up here!

Thanks for the wildflower clarification. I’m still learning those.
