Spent a few hours this morning on the carp flats with my buddy Bobby Springer. He had been out with me several times before, but today was the first day where the conditions were really where they needed to be. He connected with a nice one. Every time I go out, I have a stronger appreciation for these fish. Here are a couple of pics….

You still using cane for a push pole?

Yep. Still using the bamboo push pole.

The “real” push poles are sweet, but having used both, I see no recognizable advantage that would necessitate spending $600+ for one.  

I have used the same piece of bamboo for 2 seasons now and when it gives out, I will walk across the street from my house and cut down another one. Can’t beat that…
