Anybody fishing the TXL? I am looking for a small stream 3 or 4 weight and was thinking a TXL might be fun!

The TXL does look like it could be some fun! I have been looking at 0 or 00 weight in this rod .. primarily for small streams. Have not been able to throw one yet, but there are not a ton of choices when you get down to 1 and 0.

My thought exactly! I am going to cast one as soon as I can. I was thinking of a 7′ 10″ 3 weight since I already have a reel with 3 weight line for a longer rod. It might be a good outfit for bream as well as trout.

I have only yard cast this rod, but the 00 was very impressive and if I had the money to blow, I’d buy one in a minute.

A friend of mine has the #00Wt & 4710 in TXL’s. We felt the #00Wt worked a little better lining up to a #1 wf line actually.

I tried a 7’10” 2 weight today and based on a very favorable impression I ordered a 3 weight in the same length. I really was surprised at how well it cast!

I guess I should have the rod in a week or so. When I get to try it out I’ll post something.
