MemberGuys,
Thanks again to everyone that has helped me recently. I haven’t had a chance to get any fish pictures yet, but have been practicing daily taking pictures of my daughter, nieces and dogs. I’ll share a few of my results. I know my pictures probably have a lot of flaws right now, but I’m just really enjoying playing around with it. I’ve got a lot of learning to do, but I wouldn’t be where I am now without this board and its members and I’m very grateful. Thanks for your help thus far and in the future.

David AndersonMemberWow, great shots !
#3 is awesome, a beautiful picture with a simple and lovely feel – very well done.
Only comment I would make is the color is a little cold (auto white balance?), while it still works I think a warmer version would be better for a baby shot.
Another thing is the focus – I would normally try to get the eye closest to the lens.

Memberyou can always bump up the warmth a bit in Post…if you shot that in RAW add a little red saturation or if not you can probably do it in picasa.

Ben CochranMemberMatt, I am a huge fan of properly executed B&W shots, I absolutely love your first shot!!!!! Many will try for the extra crisp sharpness but I am a huge fan of an artistic blur and yours is great, in that shot.
When you get into learning some post software, do yourself a favor and not let technical skill advancements take away your present artistic flare from delivering some “GREAT” B&W photographs

David AndersonMemberWow, that is great shot of a cute kid – love the blue blue eyes !
Tight crops like that give a head shot a lot of impact.
Well done.. 😉
