    Hey all,

I have a coworker that wants to take his 2 piece rod on a flight from Louisville to Orlando.

He will most likely be required to check them with his other luggage (and pay to check additional baggage, as well…mfing airlines).

I fly in and out of Bozeman, MT all the time and people are routinely carrying two-piece rods on the airplane.

    Pete,

There was a fairly extensive thread about this not too long ago, within a month if I remember correctly.  That will likely be very helpful for you.

Hope that helps.  Not specifically about two piece rods, but has some good info nonetheless.  Your best bet is just call or email your airline and ask them.  Like Mike said, I’ve seen people carry on two piece rods in the past, but it’s best to check with your airline to there aren’t any surprises once you get to the airport.

    He needs to gate-check it.
