    Long story short (as I can make it) from the show was this;

    I watched the show. It interested me as we have gone to the NC Outerbanks yearly since 1987, & I haven’t seen as many jellies in all those years than we saw in one week last August. At the same time, friends of ours were in Hilton Head where the beaches were shut down most of a week due to jellyfish. I attributed it to weather patterns, but now I’m wondering. Sadly, all too often stuff like this suffers from media exaggeration which is not good either.

    There is also new research showing that we’re in an emergent warm water trend that will put down striper numbers for the next thirty five years.

    I put this on my web site some time ago. A great article from The Economist, usually a very conservative magazine.

    We have already eaten 90% of the larger pelagic fish in the ocean so we are now sinking into reverse evolution.
    Anybody know what weight rod should be used for jellyfish? I understand that they can make a sizzling run.
