The Itinerant AnglerHey guys –
One of the benefits of being a writer is you sometimes get a crack at some of the new products before they actually come to market.

MemberThanks for the heads-up on the wading pants.

MemberLauren and Zach- you piqued my curiosity …
you mentioned- ” the waders are now five-layer in the front, four-layer everywhere else” . Is the butt reinforced as well?
is that 5 layers knee/shin
Oct 7, 2008 at 2:23 am #29876Zach Matthews
The Itinerant AnglerThe five layer goes up the front like shin guards; the seat is still four layer.

InactiveAre these cloudveil pants essentially “wet wading”? Or are they sealed somehow or actually have neoprene booties like normal waders? Still trying to grasp the concept.

The Itinerant AnglerTim –
They’re waist high waders.

InactiveHey Zach,
I posted a question on the Cumberland thread but it’s obviously more appropriate here sorry. The coat looks great but is there a hood on it anywhere? Or maybe sold separately as an accessory? I’ve been searching pretty hard for a softshell w/ a hood unfortunately to no avail. Thanks
Lee…look no further my friend.
I know LL Bean is not considered “cool”, “chic” or “fashionable” by many in the fly fishing world but their products have been proven over time and their customer service and gauruntee is without question the best there is.
Check out the Rapid River soft shell wading jacket….WITH HOOD!

MemberGuys, I know I have said it before but I will like to say it again anyway: I would trade my first born child for this plaid Loop wading jacket.

Totally chav, totally awesome!
I am considering selling my kidney to fund this purchase…

The Itinerant AnglerMike –
I saw some of those at the show, not just the plaid but with other sort of wild snow-board-y designs, too.

MemberThey break up your outline so the fish have a more difficult time spotting you, right?
Oct 7, 2008 at 8:44 pm #29884Zach Matthews
The Itinerant AnglerI think the idea is to make it easier to live your extreme lifestyle without compromising your coolness, but I’m sure it works how you said too.

MemberI know, I made that up just now.

The Itinerant AnglerTim, I think may be you draw conclusions here that aren’t really well-founded.

MemberI don’t remember hearing anything bad about llbean.
Oct 8, 2008 at 3:28 pm #29891Zach Matthews
The Itinerant AnglerI think LL Bean stays more on the down-low because it is a direct retailer rather than a manufacturer supplying fly shops.
