MemberHere are a few pics taken on my old Canon AE-1 with a 50mm 1.8 during a quick daytrip over to the westcoast. Isaiah, the chap holding the fish, had had a tough time of it during his trip to NZ so Andrew and I thought we’d see if we could turn his luck around.
Really appreciate any C+C, I’m looking to step my photography up so any advice is good advice.

MemberCheers Brian. To be honest that photo was more a result of playing around on photoshop and doing something a little different from all the other photos I’ve taken. I did quite like how the orange was so much brighter than any other colour in the original photo, and I guess wanted to emphasize it by dropping the rest of the colour.

MemberThat website is brilliant! It’s really interesting seeing the reaction about the colour splash. Personally I think I agree with you guys (other than still finding it kind of fun to play around with the magnetic tool on PS), but when this set featured in an online mag over here in NZ one of the strong reactions we got was that the heavy PP shots were amongst peoples favourites. Moral of the story: people don’t have much taste.
P.s. JayMorr – that BW photo of yours of the guy smoking the pipe and tying flies – stunning.

MemberThanks Jay, that’s not actually me though – it’s an American chap called Isaiah that we met in the backblocks and kidnapped for a few fishing trips.

Yep, I reckon you’ve got a point.

Curtis BiasMemberJayMorr- I have enjoyed your photos. Your work is outstanding. I have a degree in fine art and have spent some time behind the lens. You have a great eye. Nicely done.
Jack- Thanks for sharing your photos here as well. There are some talented photographers on this website. You are in good company. I’m nowhere near the photographer you guys are. I do far better with paint brushes, colored pencils, and clay.
