    hey all,
i have been off for a while but back with a vengeance now!
was wondering if anyone had a good lodge to go visit in the spring time that was affordable…montana, or west is great…rather stay in the US….
only have a few days and would like to get some trout.

hope all are doing well and that everyone has a good thanksgiving!

    Todd,

What sort of time do you consider to be “spring time?”

    thanks tim…mucho appreciated…
i am looking to go either in early to mid march (depending on said runoff) or maybe at the end of april…a big spectrum i know, but that is what my schedule dictates…

March, April and May is essentially pre-runoff in Montana.

    thanks mike!
do you think it would be a waste to go there at that time?

    any good recommendations around there?

    much appreciated.

    Todd,

    Something to consider in Colorado:

It isn’t exactly a lodge, but Frying Pan Anglers has some very nice cabins located along Frying Pan Road, just outside of Basalt and a great staff of guides.  Since it isn’t a lodge setting the price for your accommodations is a little more reasonable.   When you stay in the cabins you have access to a mile of private water along the Pan and if you take a guided trip with FPA you get a discount on the price of the cabin.  As far as guides go, I would suggest fishing with Mike or Cameron.

March is a great month for fishing in Colorado, and, as a bonus, you will be a short drive from some great skiing at Snowmass or Aspen.
