The new boat ships tomorrow…………..couldn’t be happier. It was a tough year with so much water-had to bounce around a lot but got into some fish.

Had to work the lakes before the rivers got into shape…..

    But then it was on…………

Found some time to go play for myself…………….

My elk tag opens tomorrow and I’m seriously looking forward to fall.
    Laters.

That’s awesome Mark. What’s the new boat going to be?

I got the NRS Freestone. A raft is needed around here and my poor Clacka is starting to fear rocks. The inflatable drift boat will be the best of both worlds and I will just use the same trailer (with a few adaptions).

That’s interesting Mark. Have you rowed one of those yet? I’m curious whether they sit higher in the water/catch wind more, kind of like the problem with HDPE boats.

I have rowed one and I love it…….Sit higher than what? I run a high side, so it will sit a bit higher than low-pro boats, but not much more than I am used to. The maneuverability over a raft is night and day, self-bailing, and bombproof. I am going to have a blast finding out what this new thing can do.

Say, anyone want to buy a used drift boat? $850 and it is yours………………………………

Mark the complaints I heard about the HDPE boats was that because they sat higher in the water, they were more prone to swirling and tipping at anchor. Some of the HDPE guys learned that they had to anchor up in slower water than they had before — maybe just something to experiment with when you get your boat.

I definitely like the inflatable concept — there are a few places here where you almost have to bounce yourself into the water. I am *hopefully* going to finally be buying my drift boat next year. Unfortunately it’s low-side or skiff all the way down here. Not enough gradient.
