Nice! Those are some good looking fish and boats! 😉

I went Monday with my friend and my son. What a contrast from last week. The Wb was at 860 versus 3500! The Delaware gave son the Montana guide a refresher course in technical dry fly fishing. Apple Caddis, Hendrickson’s, Paraleps, etc. Incredible fishing all day!

Dave, my friend built this skiff from an MBB kit as well. It’s a perfect Delaware boat.

Dave – I didn’t see any wood boats on the main but there was one at the west branch angler where I was staying for the weekend.

Those boats are sweet as heck, and the fish too.

When I built my 16 ft Guide model, I really didn’t know anything about building a boat or the design options. I wish I could build another one, but this time I would start with the MBB Kingfisher and modify the inside configuration to eliminate the ‘arch’ type rear brace and go with the ‘cobra’. This allows you to move freely around in the boat. Also the Kingfisher has great rod storage along the sides (and a place for that pesky spare oar).

Anyway, building a wooden boat is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Everyone should experience it…a couple times!
