Question: Costa Rica Fishing?

It’s not a done deal yet (fingers crossed!), but it looks like I’m going to be going to Costa Rica just after the holidays.  I think the dates will be December 30 to January 4 or 5.  Does anybody know anything about the fishing available down there during that time of the year?

There’s no way the wife is going to allow me to abandon her the whole time, but I think I’ll shoot for a couple half-day trips so I can try a couple different things without being gone too much of the time.

Guide recommendations are welcome.

Oh – and the REAL reason for this post:  Zach, it’s an all-expenses-paid trip from my office.  My law firm is better than yours, neener neener neener!   ;D

well the main draw down there seems to be the blue water stuff.

I would definitely rather fish inshore than the deep-sea stuff.

I agree, I’m sure I’d like to try it someday but using teasers to get the fish within a short casting range seems like cheating or something.

That’s the other thing – if I fish offshore, I’ll probably forego the flyrod and use gear.
