Okay after 10 years off/on in the Rockies chasing Trout, this Georgia boy is debating moving to Florida in the Tampa area this Spring. Very tough decision seeing how I love the Rockies but my true addiction is Saltwater for sure!

Family and a few fishing buddies live in the area and trying to coax me so we’ll see. Would you do it? No kids, no commitments and self employed so as long as I can get a job I may do it. Anybody have any tips on helping on my decision or anyone in that area tips on living in Central Florida. Yep I know it gets Hot, but Denver gets chilly so it all evens out~

    Thanks

Hmm heat is one thing, which you know Denver can get downright hot in the summer time as well. But man that humidity in the south sucks (I grew up in Memphis and went to FL on vacation as a kid). Everyone I know from FLA was glad to get out, and have no desire to go back. But they aren’t fishers, so they have a different perspective.
I guess it’s a toss up between hurricanes and blizzards. Palm trees or aspens.

If it were me, I’d stay in the rockies and visit Florida….I prefer cold to heat.

Thanks and yeah I would love to hit the keys, actually half in Denver and the other 1/2 in Keys (preferably Oct-April) a few buddies here in Colorado do that and make sure to rub it in!

    do it

every time we watch an episode of dexter i give the wife the stink eye

i had a job offer there a year ago that included a company boat. a company boat!!!!

i love the tropical weather, flora, and fauna. the fishing is just the icing for me.

the things that would hold me back is the lack of fresh water, forest fires, and those pesky storms come end of summer.

    Just a thought.
It sounds like you are leaning toward the beach and the tropical fish.

Everyone needs to scratch their own itch, and real estate prices in Florida are becoming reasonable.

    Me?

The Tampa Bay area is a medium sized city, around 3 million, however, it is wrapped around the bay and has a lot of frontage on the Gulf.
