In response to the question of warranty I would much prefer paying for a broken rod myself each time I break it.I don’t think taking out the warranty will result in lower priced rods. No manufacturer will say, okay you can buy my rod without warranty for say a 100 bucks less. The price will just be the same.
What i do think is that a good warranty is expensive. For instance i own a scierra hm2 and broke the tip 2 months ago, they claim to give lifetime warranty but parts for the hm2 are just not available anymore. A company like Sage wich is a real price step higher does have parts for rods from way back. Sage does charge 35 euro a part in Europe but you will have one.
