The PETA folks are interested in banning catch & release.

Personally, I am kind of glad when PETA launches campaigns like their “sea kittens” number they are running now.

I am a lot more worried about attrition by apathy than because people actually get *convinced* not to fish.

Sorry, I make that comment in sooo much jest, it is just ridiculous that they believe we should kill the fish, as it is more humane…

Let’s see, I catch you, oh and then I kill you…. Humane???? I don’t get it… that’s like saying, sorry for being caught and for that you MUST die…

They’re just getting started here in Australia and some of us fishing types thought we should start our own chapter – if we got enough members maybe we could vote Peta be given the job of shooting all the feral cats, dogs, horses, pigs, camels and rabbits that are stuffing up our local wildlife.

We could also get rid of all pet cats as they’re the biggest killer of our native birds.

Then, when all that’s done, we could bother bait fisherman for drowning worms… ;D

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

I’m all for people stopping fishing, provided it is accompanied by all the fisheries and environment being protected from pollution, development and commercial fishing.
