    Anyone ever fish a periwinkle (freshwater snail) pattern

    Hey Jim,

    Were you by chance fishing on the Hiwassee?

    I’ve seen many fish chock full of periwinkles on the HI from time to time.

    I was indeed. It was July-August, and I wonder if the time of season had a lot to do with it. Regardless, those fish were loaded with little black gilled snails.

    I’ve seen some snail flies using foam for the body/shell. take some 2mm foam, cut thin strips and then roll them into the shape of the shell. Then epoxy
