Hello good folks,
Last year, I was involved with the production of a documentary by Louisiana Public Broadcasting entitled “Native Waters: A Chitimacha Recollection.” It is a study of the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana, of which I am a member, whose name means “people of the many waters.” It chronicles how we nearly lost our culture and language, but have revived both and are continuing to do so. In contrast, it studies the problems of the Atchafalaya River Basin, our ancestral home from which we took our name, and how it is slowly dying of siltation and lack of flow. I serve as writer and narrator for the production, and there is a little fly fishing in it, including some very bad casting by yours truly. 🙂
You can see it online for just a couple weeks more at

It is an excellent production about an ancient people and a modern problem affecting all of us in Louisiana.
Thanks. I’d love your feedback on it.
