    I’m trying to start using more video on my website.

    I have some files around 260MB in avi format. But the three programs I have which can compress the video either reduce the resolution size substantially or introduce a lot of distortion in the compression.

    Anyone have some PC publishing suggestions for good video? What is a good final file size for web use?

    Give Sorensen Squeeze a try for making sorensen compressed quicktimes. Or if you have a good way to convert to H.264 QT that would be a good option. Otherwise look to convert to flash. Brightcove seems to do a good job if you’re looking for an online service.
