Memberthats right, I forgot they were delaying the release so they could get that phone out or something.

MemberYeah, they said the delay was due to the needs of the iPhone release. Personally, I am much looking forward to it. I have been wanting to replace my G4 Quicksilver 2002 Mac for a while now. Since the release is this fall, I think I’ll put it off till then. Seems like a waste to buy a Mac now, and then upgrade the OS 5 months later. Not that $129 is too much, but better if it comes with the computer.
But Leopard looks like it’s gonna rock. I have using Macs at home since 2002, and professionally for almost 20 years. Best thing going IMO. No hands on experience with Unix/Linux, but I love what it has done for Mac OS X as a core system. Windows has come a long way, and I may run it on my new Mac with bootcamp, but OS X is certainly my comfort zone in computing.

MemberAs far as Windows goes, Vista is on my new work computer and that Mac ad with all the “allow or don’t allow” mess is most defnitely not a joke.

MemberI have not tried either Parallels or Boot Camp as of yet. The IT guy where I work is using Parallels on a MacBook. He said it was a bit tricky getting it set up, but that it works well. I have not even laid eyes on Vista, and intend to use XP when the time comes. I really only need Windows for some astronomy stuff and to interface my GPS for updates & such. Tho XP is a very stable OS, but it still seems clunky to me. I’m sure this is just because I am a long time Mac user and am not that comfortable with Windows.
I work in the printing industry, what can I say. Macs are still the norm for me and I like it that way.

MemberIt’s really funny, in a lot of tech podcasts I listen to Mac users are more comfortable with Vista than Windows users are.

The Itinerant AnglerI run Parallels also but have lost a couple Virtual Machines and had to figure out how to do a little unhide wizardry.
