I see this topic was lightly brushed upon in an earlier thread….but was hoping for a bit more info.

What are everyones thoughts on the online camera places…ie….fotoconnection.com, Wild Digital, Broadway Photo, Camera City, Camera World etc etc etc.

Obviously some of the prices look too good to be true…but are any of them reliable?

My advice would be to stick with the reputable ones like amazon, b and h, and adorama.

Had good experiences with B&H, both on line and at the store.

I purchased a Nikon D70s from beachcamera.com and everything arrived as expected and in perfect condition.

I know someone told Zach to check out http://www.resellerratings.com/ in an old thread about searching for his D200. This site provided me with a wealth of information concerning online stores. Check it out if you haven’t already.

I’ve been seriously photographing for ten years, done most of my business for equipment and supplies online, and I’d second Eric’s comments about sticking with B&H, Adorama, and Amazon.com as your sources.

Like Mr. Patten stated previously, Beach Camera has served me well. I bought my D70s and some odds and ends from them last year with no problems. I’ve also had good luck with Amazon.com. Best of all….no followup telephone calls asking me to purchase accessories from them.

Ones I have used and have been happy with:

B&H (usually my first choice for main equipment)
    KEH (used equipment)
Amazon – (I use them for related gear and assessories)

Porters Camera – Perhaps overlooked because prices tend to be high, but they are in the midwest, service is good, and they carry some specialty or different stuff sometimes. Check them for assessories.

I did beach camera as well when I purchased my canon XTI and was happy with everything. They had great prices too!
