Oil Spill in Louisiana Marsh

For those of you who have fished in the marsh of Louisiana, some disturbing news.  There was an 18,000 gallon oil spill 10 miles SE of Venice, LA yesterday.

Still unclear what effect this might have on the fishing and wildlife but the picture doesn’t look good.  Unbelievable what a swimming pool’s worth of oil can do to an ecosystem.

The local news is reporting that the spill is contained, cleanup is progressing well, and no damage was done.
