This is a little old, but I figured I’d throw some pictures up here anyway.  I spent the 4th of July weekend in north Michigan wetting a line on a number of different streams and lakes.  Had a blast, caught some fish, enjoyed some nice weather, and generally had a great independence weekend.

Checked out the Boardman River for the first time:

    Caught some of these:

    Michigan is in rough shape:

Explored the Deward area of the Manistee River, and found some awesome water up there:

Didn’t catch any big fish, but caught plenty of these and found some really nice water to return to in the future.

Spent most nights sitting out on the Manistee waiting for the hex hatch…which never came.

But also spent the 4th sitting out by the lake enjoying the view and the fireworks.

Even fired up the trusty old “rracuda” and hit the lake to chase some smallies.

    Got into some decent fish:

And my dad got into the action as well:

Overall, an excellent weekend on a variety of water.

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.
