Nice Neal. Good job on the 2nd to last with the flash.

And yeah, setting up in the river can be a little unerving. In time, you learn to ignore the butterflies 🙂 Wait till you go for low angle shots with waves breaking a foot away or on ice covered rock in winter..:)

Nice Neal, what a beautiful river !

I agree, the fill flash is well done and looks like normal daylight.
The shirt the angler (Bob?) is wearing is also a good choice for photos because it really stands out without looking like something normally seen in a club or on a golf course.

Morsie drummed the shirt thing into me years ago, and it makes a huge difference to the shot IMHO.

    Well done.

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

Thanks guys.  The landscape and outdoor game is still a huge ball of stress, aagghh.  The gels and filters are definitely the  next step for me.  What a difference they make when you are dealing with that big sun and the myriad of light changes throughout the day.  Not to mention those dappled shadows which change faster than a woman’s mind, ha.

Here are a few shots from the North Carolina mountains on Saturday.  This is as far from macro as a man can get.:D

Nice stuff Neal! I have taken my full flash setup out on the river in the past also .. and I agree, a little stressful. 🙂

I had to view the pictures from home for some reason, but any way they were great shots Neal.  I really love the one with the reflection in the water!
I do not even own a tripod and got a little stressed when I read you did that 😮

    Neal,

These images take me back. I caught my first trout on a fly on Noontootla Creek in 1974. It was a 5 inch rainbow and will never forget it.
