MemberGreat site, found out about on the FWR site.
It is great to find forum where the angling writers and photographers offer stuff worth reading. I’m sick of the Me & Bob are the best stories, and I know better than anybody else articals. Nice to find something of value “THANK YOU!” Yes I joined!
Anyway a bit about myself:
I live in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia.
Am forutnate to live in a region that allows me to fly fish for Salmon & Trout year round.
I currenrtly work as a grounds keeper for a local school District, while working towards a retirement career in fly fishing on the side.
I write a weekly local sport fishing column for five local rags.
Teach fly fishing, tying, and casting, through night school and parks departmens in four local communities.
Like some of you I am in the proccess of writing my own text on fly fishing, since I am tired of handing out photo copies of notes and diagrams, each time I teach a class.
Enough on that; my best bio is on the net. If you are interested you can find it by doing a google search of my name Jeff Weltz and reading “Fishing For a Future.”

MemberN,
It was the largest I caught on a fly. Caught it on the Anvik River in Alaska. Awesome trip. 6 fathers and sons. Not sure who had the most fun. We also caught Char, Greyling and a couple nice Kings.
And the King Crab legs were as big as my arm 😛Feb 3, 2006 at 6:30 pm #10735guy karafa
MemberJeff, it’s a great board, these people are amazing in their ability to help. Any question I’ve had has been answered. Guy

And the King Crab legs were as big as my arm 😛I thought so, Chum Salmon are my favorite next to large wild Rainbows. The Stave river is 10 minets from my door and the Chum run there from Oct through Nov. Along with Coho & Spring (you call them King). I have been very fortunate to have been part of the evolution Salmon fly fishing here in BC. and developed a bunch of effective fly patterns for targeting them.
Anyway back to Chum; I save a week of holidays each year just to target those beasts. Of all the species I have caught, pound for pound nothing fights like a Chum.

MemberHere’s a picture of my son and his.

They do fight extremely well. This particular off shoot of the Anvik was full of them.
