Hello, Just a quick post to say Hi!
Last trip…. Arizona white mountains, WMAT rez. Christmas tree lake
    Last fish Apache trout….
The story. The white mountian apache tribe has some of the most beautiful country in the state, and they manage it well. Their crown jewel is the Apache trout (makes some sense eh). Found in the white mountains of north eastern Arizona, Apache trout are recovering well and stocked in most watersheds on the rez and in the NF around the area. They are native to the tiny streams dotted through the mountian.
So cutting to the chase here is the gig, they are pretty, and they like dry flies, alot. Another possitive for the fish and area is that its 6000’/8800′ in elevation, so while it’s 108 in the valley of the sun it’s 75ish on the lake! That in its self is reason to go, from hells arm pit to Gods graces in 3 1/2 hours is a short trip in my book. So add some rain, an ant fall and the photos should tell the rest.
