    Hey guys –

In keeping with my usual policy of putting anything I write that i think is of long-term use here on the site, I have republished my article from the Fall 2007 American Angler.

This article got me totally on the switch rods thanks Zach!
I referenced it when trying to write applications for switch rods in NZ
I like the latest one on gear in American Angler too….maybe I just love gear! 🙂

Nice article. I am a big fan of switch rods. Where I am at there is two handed water, but it is limited and often not necessary unless you want to use the added length as a float rod. Switch rods are awesome. I am currently in the process of building one and just sold a couple of rods so I can check out a Meiser or Beulah some time.

Your mention of Beulah and Meiser rods really perked my interest in this post and prompted me to respond.

Interesting article Brett. I noticed a lot of Ohio shops listed on that siteyou sent me to. Are you from around these parts?

Yes I am–home is just outside the Cleveland area.

I haven’t really had a chance to play with the TFO’s yet–I’ve heard a little bit about their convertible switch that I was somewhat interested in getting my hands on but just haven’t had a chance to pursue that as of this point in time.
