Need a new rod!

I am going to build my first Sage. All my better rods thus far have been DanCraft, and now it’s time to see how Dan’s blanks compare to a Sage. I plan to build either a 5 or a 7 wt. If I build a seven it will be for shooting heads and sinking line. If a 5 wt I will use it as my go to all around trout rod. What do you suggest I build? I am leaning towards a Ti2 7 or an XP 7wt. I think the SLT would be my choice for a 5 wt. I already have some fast rods in a 5wt and would like to play around with a more mod action. The TCR might be a little to fast for my style.
Hey Mike-
I’ve seen you cast and you could certainly handle a TCR in terms of casting, but you might find it to be pretty hard on the light tippet if you do any tailwater wade fishing.
250 on a five wt???? Man that thing must be a real meat stick. I think the Xi2 will win over this time and then the SLT maybe for Christmas.
Zach, once word gets out that a rank amateur like me is using Sage then the whole image thing will be shattered :P. As for Abel, there’s quality at an affordable price i.e. Ross, and then there’s I paid the most you can pay for my equipment because I can i.e. Abel. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I just can’t afford it. Only reason I can do a Sage rod is because I have a friend who owns a rod building supply house.Hey Phil-
You ever meet a person you really didn’t like, with the name of say Fred, and from then on you had to struggle not to associate any other Freds you happen to meet with that guy?
Went to Fly South and fondled ax Xi2 And I must say that the little blue rod has the same effect as a certain little blue pill. I can’t wait to build this one!

Where can one get some more info on the Dancraft blanks? Is there a website or catalog of some sort?
