Made it out this morning for the first time in a long time. I didn’t take the SLR with me for fear of breaking it trying to maneuver rod, fish and camera simultaneously. I just stuck the Pentax in my pocket and snapped a few quick pics before turning my victims loose. I need to go fishing with a partner sometime soon so they can fish and I can just focus on taking pictures and not breaking my camera. Anyway, I fished the Davidson and Avery creek in western N.C. for about 4 hours this morning. I was in the water by about 10:00 a.m. The fishing was pretty good the whole time. Due to the crowds on the Davidson I only fished it about and hour and then headed to Avery. In all there was about 13-14 fish brought to hand, 5 on the Davidson and the rest on Avery. Nothing of any great size, the largest was a Davidson brown about 11″ that self-released at my feet before I could get the Pentax out of my pocket for a quick stream-side studio session. I managed the slam thanks to a dumb little stocker brookie that wandered up Avery creek. I hooked this fish on my stimulator, a he got off and swam right back to his spot. Next cast he refused the stimulator so I tied on an ant. He rose to the ant 3 casts in a row before ending up in the net. All fish came on a yellow stimulator or tellico nymph. Heres a few of the bows that came to hand. Please try to keep the laughing and jokes(regarding my pictures) to a minimum ;).

I was playing around a bit with underwater pictures(doing my best Matt Jones impersonation), which didn’t go so well. I’ll have to keep working on that.
