MemberStuff that looks like this (not my box):
I know a lot of people get muskies out our way Dave with smaller stuff (relatively) – whistlers, big EP type stuff.

Those musky flies (with the heads) are Swimtrue musky flies, http://swimtrue.com/e-commerce-solutions-catalog1.html. A buddy of mine who fly fishes for musky (even went to Wisconsin from Ontario to do so) swears by them — gave me link to this site (I’d asked him for his input when I saw the original post by Dave Z for anybodywho knew or could share musky fly patterns — my buddy is not a member of this forum so I posted info he provided — he originally just sent photos of the Swimtrue flies) — according to their site: “That’s why my Swimtrue Musky Flies come equipped with a large rattle encased between 3D eyes. The lip on this fly moves the head from side to side, the speed of which depends on the rate at which you strip the line. Now add a large 12″ body that suspends in the water at rest, all adding up to a muskie meal.”
Hope that answers your question.Jan 28, 2009 at 2:35 pm #56990lee church

MemberVery cool flies Mike! You’ve got the right idea with the suspending action. My buddy’s been tying some big ass deer hair headed creatures that we fish on heavy sinking tips.
… and they work 😉

There is a healthy balance between movement and durability. Not to mention castability. Deer hair works great and so do synthetics. Rabbit moves well but gets really heavy. Let me know if you need any more help.Mike O –
I met Nick from Canadian Fly Fisher Mag and he swears by those patterns. Havent tried one yet but plan to.Dont listen to Porter or Church. They are full of shit. So is Otto. Hell, so is Mark.

Those Swimtrue flies do apparently work — musky maniac friend of mine swears by them (as I mentioned in earlier post) — Nick P. from The Canadian Fly Fisher should definitely know too — Nick loves going after all sorts of warm water species besides just muskie — amazing gar fly fisherNice flies by the way Tim
Maybe I should consider giving up steelhead fishing and take up chasing those muskies on a fly LOL LOL — if you can get it there’s an interesting article on muskie fishing in S. Ontario in the 2009 Outdoor Canada fishing annual — article is called “fish of a Thousand Casts”
