Interesting note about plant juice from ~the beach. My buddies and I used to sqeeze the juice from a beach, watery plant that looked like Aloe, but wasn’t, and convinced ourselves that it worked. Another time, we heard about Oil of Wintergreen. A small bottle from the local pharmacy was carried in our pockets, but only for a while. A little drop or two goes a long way…BUT woe be unto the person whose perspiration transported it to the eyes, or to a “sensitive area” by a casual scratch. Excruciating. Lefty Kreh said of the mosquitoes here in the Keys: They are so big they can stand flatfooted and romance a turkey. Here we call the Mosquito Control folks nearly daily in the summer and complain like crazy. They semi-regularly send out a truck and spray…based on an esoteric count. Beware of deets. Beware of bare skin. Beware of dusk and early mornings before the sun warms things up.
