    Well…after a few months of anxious waiting…the McFarland eight foot five weight Spruce Creek (fiberglass) rod arrived on Friday.  All I have had a chance to do is give it an in house wiggle, and put backing and line on the J. W. Young Beaudex that I picked a couple of months ago.  The rod feels pretty sweet…but I’ll know better once I get to the river with it.

    Well…it has been since the Monday after Thanksgiving that I’ve had a chance to get away for the day…but tomorrow morning I am off to N.C. to give this rod an honest evaluation.
