Wow…nice info ! Beautiful fish you’ve catched there.
I have been on Madeira 3 times, and wondered each time if there are some good trout fishing anywhere.
We visited Azores last year and catches a lot of fine small trout in the volcano lakes there.
In April 2016 we’re going to Funchal again, and then I wonder if you could help me with a little “fishing-info” ?
Where can we get a licence for example ?
And wich streams are accessible without a 15 km levada walk ? ?
On the Azores we paid only 1 EUR for a 3 month licenca….in two copies with stamps and all….crazy…Any help appreciated

Hi!
I can´t be sure if I’m gonna be here next here by that time, but there is a guide service in the island that is quite good in the service. If you want you can search for Madtrout on facebook, youtube, tripadvisor…
The licence is similar to Azores and there is a couple of places with easy access from road without the 15km of levada ;). Places like Curral das Freiras, Seixal, Ribeira da Janela, Sao jorge…all moutain streams, sometimes hard to walk and the trouts almost always under the 10inch mark, but nice fighters to catch on light gear!
