You are going to need to ask Mike, but it is a brutally good fly.

wow, thats pretty close to the little thing I’ve been using for the skipjack shad recently.

Glad you liked it. That has been a great fly for just about anything. I’ve caught Gar, Trout, Bass, Stripe, Crappie, Skipjack, and Bream on it.

Hook: big un or little un.
Bead head and lead wrap the hook, or not.
    Tail: Polar Ice Angel Hair
Body: Opal White Estaz or pearl chenile.
Thorax: Red Angel Hair dubbed on the thread and wrapped.

Hackle can be used to slow the fall of the fly down but I find it to slow for the way I like to fish.

Angel Hair is the shit, and estaz is a stale of most of my redfish flies.

Carter I like Angel hair mixed in and combed into Syn or natural hair too. It makes flies that look good enough to eat.

I just started using BearsDen and I do like them so far. They have a huge selection of the kinds of materials I love to use.

They’ve got really good prices on those stick on holographic eyes, painted dumbbell eyes, and things like that.

    Look at their flies.

I really like this one for LM Bass.

Ha, I’ve got to start selling flies, I’ve been making those for years.

Yeah, I’ve got a purple one around here somewhere, Carter, that you tied.

Zach those ponds are awesome and even small ones have some HUGE Bass. Finding them and getting permission isn’t always easy but worth trying. I remember one time I was walking up to this big house down in Putnam county GA to ask an old friend of mine for permission to visit his pond. I’m about half way to the house when I hear my buddy who was sitting in the truck, laughing his head off. I turned to see what was so funny only to find the biggest Rottweiler I’ve ever seen walking right behind me. You can’t even imagine how that feels! All I could do was pretend I wasn’t scared and keep walking to the door. I didn’t even go up on the porch but instead turned and walked back to the truck. We didn’t fish the pond that day, man I hate those dogs!

There are only a few places in the world where I’d consider Bass fishing again and those GA ponds are one of them. Until I found Striper and Trout here in TN
