I would go with a pop-up spiral leaf bucket for the boat.

I don’t know about fishing from a boat but I am thinking about getting the WJ retractable stripping basket for rivers.

I have the WJ retrac basket and I like it better every time I use it. I has no fingers, but if your careful putting the line in it, it will come out ok. Also you either have to cast all the line you have out every so often or cut the fly off and let your line untwist in the current.

I like the Bean basket but the bulk + my clumsy would = disaster.

Which reminds me, BD, please don’t use nails as Zach suggested, for fingers in your homemade basket. I would hate to have to pull them out you. Even worse I would hate to watch you bleed to death if the fish were biting.

Mike, next time we go streamer fishing, maybe I should borrow that W&J basket from you for a bit and give it a test run.
