MemberMe and a fishing buddy are taking a week in November to explore some Steelhead water we have yet to fish.
I am going to fish some water in New York that I have never seen. (if you are into fishing this area, you know where I mean)
On our way back into Ohio we will probably fish some PA streams we are familiar with. I know the area well, no help needed as far as lodging goes.
I would be open to any lodging recommendations for some of the Eastern Ohio waters as well
We are looking for clean lodging with comfortable beds, secure parking that is close to good food.
I know how close to the vest we all like to keep out favorite fishing holes, I am not fishing for choice fishing spots (i’ll take it if you offer though, lol) I just don’t want to book a room in a roach motel.
Feel free to e-mail me with any info.

MemberI’ve stayed at the Green Roof Inn in Girard, PA, which is right near some of the Lake Erie tribs. Good clean room with 2 double beds was something like $45 a night.
I am definitely planning on staying there again next time I’m up that way.

InactiveAs was mentioned the Green Roof Inn is a good spot. It is by no means fancy but it is perfectly fine for fishing trip purposes. There is also a Motel 6 (I think…maybe a Best Western) in Conneaut, OH.
As far as eating goes….just up the road from the Green Roof is a place called Crowley’s.

MemberTim,
Can’t make it over to NY for a couple of weeks. I am trying to put together a list of places to stay and eat in the regions I haven’t been to before.
I am tying up some flies and thinking about building another rod before November.
I’ll let you all know how it turns out.

MemberIn the future, if you’re fishing the PA creeks and want a centralized location for both east and west side creeks, you can’t beat the Red Roof in Erie.

It’s not exactly the cleanest hotel ever, but it has a bar and restaurant right in the hotel with REAL breakfasts!Last year we had the perfect storm so to speak… went over to NY to fish for a day while rains brought all of the drought-stuck steel running up the rivers in PA. The next day it was simply phenomenal fishing! We stood in one place and let the fish come to us! By the next day the water was low and clear and word got out so each hole was surrounded by locals!
