    Hey guys –

Is Leica known for using a different aspect ratio?

I am trying to get in touch with a photographer for an upcoming issue of the magazine, and I came across a great picture he took with a Leica DLUX point and shoot.

Zach, I believe many point and shoots now have at least a widescreen movie recording mode. Some have a widescreen aspect still image capability like some of the Canon Powershots. Unfortunately, I don’t think the Canons allow RAW recording in that mode–just JPG.

PS Just looked at Leica’s website and they say it is to accommodate viewing on HDTV displays.

Zach any day now the Drum will make a spawning run up a certain river here. There will be hundreds of thousands of them. All you need to do is stand in the flats and rub your boots into the gravel. They will swim right up to you. Shots like that would be extremely easy. It doesn’t last long but I’ll holler at ya when it starts if I’m around to catch it.

These are a few I took just after I got my Sony (no polarizer).

This is the average size but some of them will be pushing 40 pounds.

I’ve heard they taste nasty. I think the more important question is, will they take a fly?
