After poking around on the board this week, I realized that it has been a while since I have offered some original content. Given the time of year, I spent some time thinking about my 2009 fishing year and what I was really thankful for.
It boils down to this. I have been really lucky to do some great fishing this year. A spring trip to Montana, with stops at DePuys, the Yellowstone, the Gallatin, and others. A summer trip back home to Minnesota for some big bass on flies. And, an incredible trip through Wyoming this fall, where one of my best buddies and I bummed through the mountains and completed the Wyoming Cutt-Slam.
But what I am most thankful for is my new home. After a year on the road my family re-located to the mountains of South-Central Colorado, where I now live minutes from the Arkansas River. So, I went out to fish for a couple of hours on Thanksgiving day and gave thanks to all things local . . .

While the last pic isn’t something local, I am certainly thankful for the new trend of good beer in cans. After all, what could be better for fishing?
Happy Holidays,
Jay
