I was watching planet earth the other night on the discovery channel, and learned that the sail fish communicate with each other using the color of the sail (i think, might have been the body) to avoid colliding and impaling one another with the nose when busting through the bait ball.

I saw that too Eric, something about they change to from blue to black or something like that depending on the direction they’re going.
I learned in a reply from an editor to whom I’d forwarded the link that Isla Mujera has been most generous this year with sails and bait. He told me there’d been at least three other photographers that he’s aware of that have landed some stellar material from the area.
