Zach, it my memory is right , some of the members lived in Atlanta, or nearby(including you, I think). Here’s a prayer that all came thru unscathed.

All is well here. I spent Saturday in the basement of a Church. We went upstairs during a break in the storm, they performed the wedding ceremony and back to the basement we went. There was a crashing thunder when the groom kissed the bride. Is that good or bad?

My father is a high up one of the local utilities and said there was a major mess in Cobb County which is south of myself. I am going to Kings Plow in downtown Atlanta for meetings tomorrow, so I’ll see what happened down there. It is located close to the dome and that whole area.

    Thanks for your prayers.

How is the airport running down there? I fly through Atlanta on Friday afternoon and really don’t feel like getting stuck there. (No offense I am just heading to the Virgin Islands for ten days) I got stuck in that airport a few years back because of a big storm and all I can say is it rains damn hard in that part of the world!

Joel, I’ve had friends fly through ATL twice in the last couple of days – nothing beyond your run-of-the-mill airline delays for anyone.

Actually, that is one mean ass tornado moving through downtown Atlanta. It is the light colored column in the center of the photo.

My building is the left-most in the cluster of three high rises just left of the center of the tornado.

Now that you say that it looks like the main body is right behind those buildings.

Now that you mention it, I think you are right.

It’s crazy how the building right next to me has ~150 broken windows, and the one I work in didn’t have a pane broken.

I grew up in central Illinois (part of the eastern edge of tornado alley).

That is indeed an amazing photo. I saw a tornado coming toward our house many years ago, caused much damage, and looked nothing as bad as that. Guy

My wife’s co-worker was driving her SUV in downtown Atlanta when the Tornado hit.

I work in the GP building. We had windows blown out and lost some furniture. Nothing too major and it was business as normal on Monday. It did take me 2 hrs to go 500 yards on Cortland Monday am.

I really do not miss that Atlanta Traffic. I did it for 12 years.

No kidding. It’s the main reaason why I am trying to relocate.

I have read a lot about what the city coulda shoulda done. I am not really sure how else they could have handled it. I thought they did a pretty good job of getting everything cleaned up over a weekend.

I was at the Kings Plow Art Center yesterday and drove around a little, and was amazed at how good it has been cleaned up. With all the pictures on the news, I almost canceled my appointment yesterday.

I work in Ball Ground from Canton and my commute is like a walk in the park. Also, I was commuting back and forth from Athens to Atlanta while in school and was ready to be one of those road ragers.

The urban sprawl here is what makes the planning so difficult. Marta is not a real help either… But this is all topics for another board I guess.

I am amazed that no more people were hurt.

Yeah, I take 75/85 to work everymorning, and get off at JW Dobbs.
