I am thinking about purchasing an Ipod and was wondering what model to get….I have an extensive music collection (~400 cd’s) and I was going to get either the 30G Ipod or get an 4G Nano…I think I might like the Nano b/c of size and ease of exercising with..What do some of you have? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hey Creeklover –

The Nano, which I have, is gorgeous and an amazingly small device. I love mine.

    Creeklover,

I’ve got a 20G color iPod and a music collection comparable to yours. I have 4,100 songs, a few dozen podcasts (including Zach’s), and 130 pictures on mine and still have over 2G’s of space left over. It took me about two hours a day for a week to complete my imports.

I run and exercise with mine; it is very unobtrusive.

For some reason every iPod accessory costs $30 or $70.

I also recommend the 30GB or 60 GB video iPod.

You can import your DVDs. There is a piece of software called handbrake for the Mac that will extract the video from the DVDs you own and convert it to an ipod compatible format. I’m sure there is software available for the PC that will do the same thing.

Yeah…you are right…I spent several hours last Thursday night trying to figure out how to rip a DVD onto the iPod.
