Been lurking on the site for some time and decided to come out of hiding. I live in Cape Town, South Africa and mainly fish for wild rainbows and browns in our crystal clear streams but will pretty much flyfish for anything if given the chance. I enjoy flytying, photography and writing. Hope to learn and contribute to the site.
I think you are our second South African. How does the fishery around Cape Town differ from Mike McKeown’s fisheries up near Johannesburg? I know the two cities are quite a ways apart. Do you ever go white shark fishing?
i was supposed to go with a guide in cape town once. can’t remember his name. can’t confirm if it was tony biggs or not. i might just remember his name from a fishing mag i picked up there. thats also where i learned about the walkers killer-and that
DarrYl takes stunning photos; hopefully he will give us some tips on his great underwater shots… He is modest, as most wise men, but I am sure he will make a significant contribution to our little community.
There is another South African here, Daryl Human, although he just immigrated to Wellington… this Daryl, is the original owner of http://www.theflyfisher.co.za
