Went to Crested Butte, CO the week before last for some snowboarding and relaxation.  Took the camera gear, but just didn’t want to deal with it while boarding, but did take an afternoon walking around town to look for ideas.

I’ll be the first to admit that *seeing* in the urban environment (even if it is a quaint ski town) is not my specialty, but figured it would be a good exercise.  So, here are the results as a little mini tour of C.B.

I’d be interested in your thoughts, specifically if you like any of the images and think they work or not for anything.

On the streets in downtown Crested Butte:

Saw this light post that reminded me of a dude in a Beret:

    The local courier I presume:

Ice flow on metal stairs as Art?

    Crazy icicles were everywhere:

Cool shop that caught my eye:

Interesting house? I could maybe see this as a Whiskey ad 😀

    As art?

John, I really like the use of a longer lens for landscapes and these are well done.

The bike is my fave as well.. 😉

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

Thanks David – I can tell I am really going to enjoy using the long lens to snipe smaller portions of landscapes, etc.

Kurt – you mentioned about cropping the red windowed building shot:

What do y’all think about this, which is the one above cropped a little lower to get rid of the power line?

VS this one, which is another frame that I had shot and originally liked but chose the one above over it initially
