Hiwassee report.

I have fished the Hiwassee several times over the past week and it is fishing really well. Caddis are coming off everyday and sulphurs are starting in the afternoon but I have’nt seen fish on them yet.
I took my wife out yesterday and she caught alot of rising fish on a #18 BWO parachute. I hiked into the gorge last week and caught a ton of fish on a pheasant tail nymph with the largest being a nice 15 inch rainbow. If you want to get away from most of the crowds hiking into the trophy section is the ticket. The fishing is great and there are some really nice fish off the beaten path.
Memorial day the Hiwasse starts its summer release schedule which means time to float, which I like.
