    The Dali Lama is all the rage in AK.  People talk about this fly in hushed reverent tones.  After a week or so of trial and error with OK results I am wondering if anyone can point me to some detailed tying instructions?  Thanks.  Kb

    Scottyd,

    Do you just leave the rabbit strips hanging free off the first hook shank? That’s the part that I’ve never quite understood.

    On the dali’s I tie, the long strip is attached to the rear hook just behind the eye. The short strip is just attached on one end (behind the cone or lead eyes). I like the biggest lead eyes I can find, and the fish don’t know its not a cone, amazingly enough. To attach to the rear hook: 1.
