don’t you have or at least used to have some old florida reels??

I need some more reels and don’t feel like spending a fortune.

I have an O.F. super arbor 55. Extremely nice reel with a super cork drag. I don’t believe there is a better deal out there. They are built to take some punishment. I use mine on my 8 and 9 wt rods. This reel is on my never sell list and I will acquire more of them down the road.

Cool, I think to start with I’m looking at a no. 66, I think I will likely pass the super arbor up in favor of the large arbor just to get more backing on there.

I bought my reel on ebay when they changed the machining on the spools. There was a guy who had bought up the old models. That was a few years ago and I don’t recall his name, or shop name. I can’t help you out with that one. Sorry.

If you get one I will be very interested to hear your opinion of it. I think you will be happy.

Yeah, but I’m just talking about the physical size of the thing really, so what do you think hypothetically, just from looking at the numbers?

    Hey Carter –

You might want to take a look at both the new heavy TFO reels.

    Carter,

I don’t think that the older ones are any different from the new ones. The machining on my spool is different from the current super arbors and that is probably the only difference. It appears that the flagship Nautilus line is where all of the improvements have been made. The reels you are looking at are straight up draw bar and cork setups. Very few parts to bust, or wear out.

    Check your messages.

    Thanks guys.

Kind of forgot about the TFO reels, last ones I ever saw first hand were some very early prototypes.

Look back in the photoblog a bit carter to a shot of what looks like a Tibor with a Blanton Whistler on it – that’s the Hayden reel.

    Carter –

The back plate is engraved with the TFO logo, which admittedly isn’t my favorite logo out there, but you have to figure they’ll brand their own product.
