Hahahah, thought that would get your attention. Lauren and I will be speaking to the Georgia Women Flyfishers group tonight at the Delkwood Grill in Marietta, Georgia. The ladies in the club are preparing for a big trip up to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (also to include the annual Troutfest celebration up there, sponsored by the fine folks at Little River Outfitters (http://www.littleriveroutfitters.com)). If you or your spouse are a member of the club, come out and say hi. If you miss this one, we’ll (or at least I’ll), be back on stage at the Marietta Trout Unlimited meeting next week, although the topic will be different.

I know a few of these women and they are the real deal.
Good info… Now to get the little lady there. She is reluctant to go to stuff like that but she really loves the sport. Her best friend and fishing partner just moved (to a location just for fishing). Some women are just different about “Clubs”…
I understand that almost 1 in 4 anglers in the US are now female?
Seems to still be very much male dominated down in the Antipodes and I was wondering if the 1 in 4 was just marketing hype or a reality you are seeing on the river also?I think it is a marketing ploy aimed at getting more guys on the water in search of the “Hardy Girl”.
I think it is a marketing ploy aimed at getting more guys on the water in search of the “Hardy Girl”. If you look at the pictures in magazines of women fishing, they all seem to be babes in bikinis :o. When I’m out on the water, mostly what I see are guys in dirty fishing shirts smoking cigars. :-/
