Am I reading the license regulations correctly that I don’t need a license if I’m fishing from a beach?

I think you have to be a permanent resident (i.e. Florida Drivers Liscense).

We’ve found that they’re required, but that we can just call to get one, and then write down our license number to carry when we fish the Sanibel area.

Great thanks – Bob, I obviously didn’t read the resident part closely enough.  

I’m also making sure to bring the glass minnow I think you tied for the streamer swap with me, along with some others.

The tiny rubber glass minnow, about 1 1/2 inch long was a killer on snook in the canals at night around the lights.

Better bring a few if you are going to be around docks.
