MemberHi, I am a high school teacher in Deer Lodge, MT. Obviously I love to fish, or I wouldn’t be on a board like this. I have two young daughters that love to “pet” and release the fish that I catch. Although the older one, a kindergartener, dosen’t really like it when I catch big fish for some odd reason.
I noticed that I had this board bookmarked for some reason, I think that one of the members (Lando)told me about it and I never really used it. I used to be a member of other boards and enjoyed them, but some of the software at the school won’t let me post to them for some reason. I guess the don’t want students chatting on some of the sites that are out there. However, for some reason it looks like I will be able to post on this site.
I know a few of your members. I mentioned Lando, and he is definately the “alpha hippie.” Lando and I went to college and worked together, and fortunately (or unfortunately?) got me started fly fishing. Up until that time I did it a little, but mostly threw spinners. Last year I met Joel and the few times we’ve got together he seems like a great guy, with a pretty sweet job.
Oh yeah…. that part in the beginning about catching fish was almost completely a lie, I don’t remember the last time I caught a fish, and I have never caught anything “big.” I only tell you this because I am sure when Lando and Joel read that part they we’re thinking to themselves, “what a lier.”

MemberBill is just one of the names that Lando has for me. But there is a good story behind most of them.
That was a nice fish… Colorado has all the big ones. Don’t let anyone tell you any different.
The real story is that I am part retarded and blew the line up inside of the reel on the mooching rod that we were using in the ocean. While the pissed off guide was trying to fix my massive screw up. I decided to try a fly rod in the ocean. Ended up getting that king. The reel on the rod had absolutely no drag, the line would just free spool out. Nearly burnt a hole in the palm of my hand, but well worth it.
And Lando… you can keep your avatar I look pretty cute in it. ;D

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

MemberAlpha Hippy?????- all I see is a cute cleancut guy and another guy in need of a haircut and a shave !!!!! both holding salmonids. I thought all the serious old school hippies were off chasing redfish/channel cats/carp on the fly and had long ago passed on mainstream fish like trout:)))) Ah well:))

MemberAdam, you guessed it, I grew up in Wyoming. Transplanted to Montana, but of course all of the big fish are still in Colorado.
Joel you’ll have to let me know when things die down for you, so we can go fishing.
