    So… after de-constructing my old Orvis a couple of months ago and realizing how easy it was to break the epoxy bond.. I got to thinking yesterday as I picked up my TiCR-X 10 out of the boat and about left an impression of the reel seat in my palm…

    Working temperature for cured 5-minute and 30-minute epoxy which a lot of hobby rod builders use for the cork grip and reel seat is somewhere around -50 to 200F.

    You can count on a rod in a metal tube in the sun on a hot day being damaged. I’ve never had one damaged in vehicle, but I take precautions as you mentioned. I also prefer the better cloth covered pvc cases for that reason.
